YouTube Demo of the Week
Hello and welcome to our new weekly blog, where we rummage in the archive of our YouTube channel for hidden gems you may have missed, or highlight new videos to our channel that are fresh off the press. Our YouTube channel is a brilliant place to listen to the many tones of Bare Knuckle, a "try before you buy", if you will. But it is also a fantastic tool for the budding gutarist, as well as the professional. Pick up (sorry, pun not intended!) loads of tricks and tips, as well as ideas for licks and new ways to tune your guitar. We are very proud of our roster of incredibly talented demo artists, who we are currently highlighting on our blog as well. We have interviewed them, and have started with Connor Kaminski, which you can read here.
So delve in, and enjoy the wealth of information available on our channel. This week we have chosen a new video from demo artist Dan Stevens. Here he is above, playing the Riff Raff humbucker.
The Riff Raff humbucker has a tight and punchy bass response with a smooth bite in the high-end; the epitome of the voice of early '60s humbucker-driven rock'n'roll.
The Riff Raff humbucker is based on the shorter rough cast Alnico V PAFs of 1960, with a more symmetrical wind of 42 AWG plain enamel wire providing more focus in the upper-mids and brighter highs. While the same build standard and components of the other vintage humbuckers in the range apply, the Riff Raff delivers a more aggressive vintage tone and unmistakable rock voice. The bottom-end is deep but very controlled and coupled with the extra cut in the high-end, allow for plenty of snap and a classic range of organic, clean and driven tones.
Although voiced as a vintage rock humbucker, hard rock and metal players will enjoy the punchy and focused tone when used with high-gain rigs. This one featured to the left has a carbon effect etch with radiator covers. The Riff Raffs are available in all of our open coil and custom finishes.
