P Bass - '52 Stagger P p-bass
From its introduction in 1951, the Precision bass transformed the world of bass playing with its unique look, feel and tone. The Bare Knuckle P Bass range captures that groundbreaking tone in both the original 'Tele' bass single coil, and later, humbucking split coil designs.
P'52 Stagger
Towards the end of 1952 the Tele bass pickup design was changed slightly to incorporate staggered magnetic poles.
The '52 Stagger P adopts those same principals and partnered with a slightly lighter wind, produces an even brighter tone with tighter bass and more cut in the highs. The coil is made with the same vintage correct black fibreboard flat work, but uses hand bevelled Alnico V magnets in a stagger pattern with raised A and D poles to compensate for the radius of the strings. Whilst originally featured on one piece maple neck guitars, the '52 Stagger P is perfect for adding punch and definition to a rosewood board P bass.
