Losing the Greats: January 2016

It's been a tough start to 2016 for music fans. We didn't think it could get much worse when we heard of the passing of Motörhead's Lemmy, who passed away on the 29th of December after fighting an aggressive form of cancer. Lemmy's funeral was held in LA this week. His passing has been a tragedy for the entire music world.
If that wasn't bad enough, this morning we've all woken up to another shock death. The words we hadn't expected to write for a number of years yet, David Bowie has died aged 69. Bowie, a true musical icon, was also taken away by cancer, and released his final album, Blackstar, on his birthday, January 8th. RIP David Bowie. Time to crank up Ziggy and celebrate a life cut short too soon.
Let's hope 2016 has taken all it needs to take.
