Have a Rocking Christmas!
It's that time of year again, we get all the "end of year" polls, the "top ten best of" lists from the year behind us. Whilst we love a good retrospective countdown, it's also time, especially after a year like 2016, to remember the achievements, the best bits, the parts we want to carry over into 2017 and beyond.
2016 has dished out some absolute clangers; as a friend of ours remarked, "2016 started with David Bowie dying and then got worse". We have seen some of the true greats leave us this year, and we will certainly be raising a glass for the likes of Prince, Bowie, Lemmy, Glenn Frey, Long John Hunter, Jimmy Bain, Greg Lake, Leonard Cohen, Paul Kantner & Signe Anderson and Tom Searle, plus many, many more.
Launching the Impulse
We have also had a lot of positive experiences during 2016. We were thrilled to release the Impulse humbucker with Josh Smith of Northlane; BKP made it to NAMM for the first time ever, and made it back to the Guitar Show and the Holy Grail Guitar Show. We are proud to now call Sam Ash a stockist, we celebrated a third run of our pickups in the Steve Stevens Knaggs signature guitar, our coloured bobbin options expanded rather significantly, and we "invented" the pickup tattoo!
We also now offer 8-string soapbar covers, which gives BKP players even more custom options.
We now offer pickup tattoos.
It was also a great year for meeting some of our artists, and people we admire. The boys were so chuffed to go and see Black Stone Cherry, our very own Josh got to meet, um, our other Josh! when he went to see Northlane, and I had a blast meeting Jared James Nichols in Exeter, and presenting him with his very own Blues Power HSP90.
Thanks To YOU!
I also had a very interesting meeting with Misha Mansoor, who popped over to the UK for a chat with us. As you may have heard, Misha has had a great year, having been nominated for a Grammy award with his band, Periphery!
With all this, and more, from 2016, we just know that 2017 is going to be bigger, better and LOUDER than ever before. We've got loads of exciting plans for the year ahead, and we can't wait to share all that with the people who have made 2016 so noteworthy, and the people who are going to make 2017 rock better than ever before: YOU! The BKP players! We wouldn't be here without you all, and we thank you from the very bottom of our hearts. Have a great Christmas and a rocking New Year!
