Stormy Monday humbucker
BUY ONLINE handwound just for you
The Stormy Monday is a sweet, articulate humbucker with warm bass, hollow mids and smooth high end that is extremely clear and dynamic.
Authentically vintage in both voicing and output, the Stormy Monday humbucker is completely handwound with vintage correct 42 AWG plain enamel wire and handcrafted with butyrate bobbins, calibrated sand cast Alnico II magnet, solid nickel silver baseplate and cover.
As with the early 'Patent Applied For' (PAF) humbuckers, the coils are wound asymmetrically for extended frequency response and touch sensitive feel. The Stormy Monday faithfully reproduces the tones of the brighter '57 and '58 era PAFs with smooth natural sustain, wonderful pick dynamics and string separation. Low notes have warmth and fullness; the highs are sweet and mellow while the mids are slightly scooped producing a soft, percussive vintage tone.

Bare Knuckle PickupsCustomer Reviews
The Stormy Mondays are in my Deusenberg Fairy Tale Split King and they sound great. I expected the humbucker settings to give me that vintage PAF sound lacking in the originals and it does so really really well. The pick ups are hotter than the originals and give great full body clean better than the originals and much more character, when driven. I didn’t expect the split setting to even be as good as the original. I don’t use it that much anyway, but in fact, I found it to be much better in the bridge pick up it’s sweeter and airer and more articulate. By the way it was all wired into the original potts making it all very simple. Another winner from you guys! And… The uncovered “zebra“ version looks like it was made for the Guitar. Best.....Peter
Holy hell! Not only is this Polypaf/Stormy Monday combo absolute heaven on my 1275 but the middle position of each set takes on an entirely different beautiful new character with the neck pickup specifically, switched to parallel. It’s like having 2 great sets of picks at once on each neck. You nailed it and I thank you immensely.
