J Bass - '60 HF j-bass
The 'stack pot' Jazz bass introduced in 1960 further pushed the boundaries of solid-body bass tone. With an individual bridge and neck coil, blendable for a wide range of tones and hum-cancelling, Bare Knuckle J bass sets accurately recreate the original 'deluxe model' tone.
'60 HF J Bass
Hand-wound with 42AWG Heavy Formvar wire to the original spec, the '60 HF J Bass coils recreate the sought after 'stack pot' tone of those first HF wound Jazz bass coils. Each coil is powered by hand-bevelled Alnico V magnets with a pair of magnetic poles for each string. The neck coil is slightly narrower than the bridge coil, and RWRP for hum-cancelling with both coils working together. Individually the tone of each coil is bright with precise dynamic attack and exceptional clarity. Low notes are firm and high notes have a positive attack with a bell-like ring; blend both coils together for a deep and warm vintage J Bass tone with full hum-cancelling.
