Here's something I recorded tonight, with the extra gain stage I designed engaged. The gain is just below 8. The gain stage has a JJ ECC83S in it's tube socket. I'm loving the tone on this clip, it's so thick yet cutting, totally 80s hair metal.
I've just played what I can remember 'In My Dreams' going like, so it's not exactly like the record. I just set a drum loop going and rocked out!
The PPIMV is on about 2, and it's bedroom volumes - my cat didn't jump off my bed or show any general concern at the sound level like it usually does when it's getting a bit loud, so that shows that the volume level wasn't loud at all. The mic is aimed at one of the G12M's in the 1960A, same setup as the Power Rangers clip pretty much.

Should work fine on that - it'd have 1 more gain stage after the mod than the amp in my clip though. If you wanted you could rearrange the circuit on that amp so the gain stage a 2204 has additional to a 1987, is actually the same as the extra gain stage I've engaged in the clip. I'd feel reluctant to add an extra preamp tube in a vintage amp though, as it would probably damage the value quite a bit.

It's double tracked - you should be able to hear each track individually if you load up media player's EQ settings and set the slider to the left or the right. Near the end you can tell it's double tracked as one track plays chord fragments while the other plays power chords, then one track lets ring an E power chord and the other track plays C5, D5 and E5.
It sounded a bit overpowering when I recorded it dry so I put some plate reverb on both tracks and the drums to make it blend in a bit more.

Bainzy you seem to have recording down to a fine art. I was wondering if you could tell me how you record please, also is that drumkit from hell?
Also you know about amps right, I own a 5150 and I'd like it to sound tighter more like a hot rodded marshall. I was thinking of turning the gain down and using some kind of drive pedal. See to my ears 5150 is used mostly just NU metal and modern mega distorsion music I'm trying to get something close to George Lynch DOkken and Vito Bratta Tone.
